Level 1 — Top of Book

Basic market data

Level 1 data provides the best available bid and ask prices. This is the most basic market data and is commonly used for chart-based trading.

Level 2 — Depth of Market

Advanced market depth

Level 2 data offers a more detailed view by showing the top 5 to 10 bid and ask levels. This helps traders see pending buy and sell orders at multiple price points.

💰 Why Is There a Charge for Depth of Market Data?

Due to the CME Group, a fee is now required to access market data even for simulated, also known as SIM, trading accounts.

At Tradentry, we cover the full cost of Level 1, Top of Book, market data across all four CME exchanges as a courtesy to our traders.

If you want to access Level 2, Depth of Market, data, which provides additional insight into market activity, you can upgrade directly from your dashboard.

Level 1 data is included free with your Tradentry membership. Level 2 DOM data is an optional paid upgrade.

You’ll be charged immediately when you upgrade to Depth of Market, also known as Level 2 data.

After that, the subscription renews on the 1st day of each month, regardless of your original upgrade date.
